Hardwood floor installation

How we install a hardwood floor, start to finish.

Before we start

We go over the job with you first.

Furniture goes to the next room. Short on space? We move things around the room as each section is done.

Then the old flooring and trim come up.

Underlay and the new floor

The underlay goes down, then the floor, laid with care for the layout, the pattern and the finished look.

We clean up as we go.

Trim and transitions

New trim goes on, or the old trim goes back. Where the floor meets a wall or another floor, quarter round, shoe molding, transition strips and caulk make a clean edge.

Detailed trim takes time: the more cuts a room needs, the longer the job.

Cleanup and a walkthrough

We clean up the dust and residue: a sweep, a vacuum and a full wipe-down, with touch-ups to the finish where needed.

Then we walk through the floor with you, and take photos of the finished job.
